The Problem Story
DITA is one of the most powerful standards for enterprise technical documentation. It's also one of the most misunderstood. The promise is clean — separate your content into Concepts, Tasks, and References, reuse them across products, publish anywhere. The reality for most teams looked very different. Writers were opening XML files in tools that felt like IDEs, not writing environments. They were making structural mistakes silently — tagging a procedure as a Concept, nesting topics incorrectly, creating content that looked fine on screen but broke downstream publishing pipelines. By the time errors surfaced, the content had already been reviewed, approved, and handed off. The structure was supposed to make documentation teams faster and more consistent. Instead, it was creating friction at every step — authoring, reviewing, managing, and publishing — because no single tool was designed around how documentation teams actually work. That's the gap CMS+DITA Made Easy was built to close: a platform where DITA's structure lives underneath, but the experience on top feels like a modern writing tool.
